I lived and worked all around the country as an organic farmer before becoming a therapist, and I see connections between the holistic way we care and nurture plants and how we support and nurture people through challenging times. Whether you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or lost, I look forward to helping you find access points and tools to move past old patterns and forward towards healing.
Expertise & Specializations
I know from my own healing journey that trauma, substance abuse, depression, anxiety can leave us feeling isolated, hopeless, stagnant. I also know that each small step towards healing and connection is an act of tremendous courage. I work to honor that courage, hold space to build a compassionate, authentic relationship where we can look gently at things that feel like they’re “too much” or intolerable or shameful.
I help clients find healing to grow from places where they feel stuck, overwhelmed, or locked into patterns they can’t seem to change. I’ve worked with people who have felt like their burdens are too heavy to share, from folks struggling with chronic homelessness, or incarceral facilities, psychiatric hospitals, and treatment centers.
If you’re struggling to manage substance use, stuck in the same patterns of isolation or unhealthy relationships, or struggling to manage symptoms of trauma, dissociation, or anxiety, we’ll work together to create a safe space that can handle pain and hurt alongside humor and joy.
Through somatic work and mindfulness practices, we explore tools and techniques that allow for the release and integration of unresolved trauma or overwhelming experiences that may show up as those depressive, anxious, addictive or dissociative symptoms. We work together to release old wounds, learn to be ourselves again, and develop tools to cope with triggers, cravings, relationship struggles, and move from surviving towards thriving.
How Therapy Feels
I create a safe place in the therapy office to get curious and experiment. If we’ve been feeling “too much”, we can bring calming, stabilizing tools and energy. If we feel shut down, or feel too little, we can experiment with what taking space, being open and expansive feels like.
I bring authenticity, playfulness, and humor into therapy alongside processing and integration tools to help clients find “aha” moments of release, of connection, of stability, of transformation. With a heavy dose of neurobiology nerdiness, I tailor tools and habits to bring the changes we feel in session in your day-to-day life. I incorporate approaches from DBT, ACT, CBT, mindfulness, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Trauma Model Therapy, and the Comprehensive Resource Model.
